Teaching, learning and testing: In times of the corona pandemic, this is a very special challenge for teachers and students. All the more so when the Abitur exams are just around the corner. The German Athletics Association (DLV) wants to support schools with physical education with an extensive video collection with high-resolution movement examples from athletics.
Special times - special challenges
Sports fields, athletic facilities, weight rooms and gyms - almost all of them are currently closed. However, what is coming up and cannot be postponed is the Abitur exams in the advanced course or the sports examination subject. For some students, taking a good practical or theoretical exam in their “specialty sport” will certainly not be a problem. For a foreign sport, this can mean an insurmountable hurdle. So what to do if you can't train or get expert advice? What to do if you have to convey movement patterns from a distance?
DLV Academy supports the schools
A possible alternative or supplement for the lessons and the exams could be motion descriptions, error analyzes and explanation of the causes of error images for young athletes in videos. The German Athletics Association (DLV) would like to support the schools here and therefore offers a new digital service free of charge: As part of the DLV initiative #TrueAthletes@Home, teachers, but also lecturers and trainers, can now find their training and further education opportunities Leichtathletik.de an extensive video collection with typical movement patterns and technical examples from all four disciplines blocks athletics - sprint, run, jump and throw!
The recordings can be played in a quality up to Full-HD and each also contain slow motion to better illustrate the movements. They were mainly filmed and edited by the experts of the DLV Academy at national youth championships in recent years.
